Celebrity does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no adverts, no analytics and no trackers. We do not operate a server for the app.
What stays on your device
Celebrity saves a few things so it can work between sessions. All of them stay on your device and none are transmitted to us:
- Your game history—scores, team names, dates and decks played
- Any name lists you write yourself
- Your settings, including turn length, sound and vibration
- A name you optionally type for a shared badge card
- A record of purchased packs so they work without a network
Deleting the app removes this information. You can also clear your history and saved lists from Settings inside Celebrity.
Microphone and speech recognition
If you use From a Theme, Celebrity asks for microphone and speech-recognition permission so it can turn what you say into text. This happens only on that screen, only while you are speaking and only after you grant permission.
When your device supports on-device speech recognition, Celebrity requires it and the audio never leaves your phone. Otherwise, recognition is performed by Apple’s speech service, meaning the audio is sent to Apple and handled under Apple’s privacy policy. The app tells you which is happening. You can always type the theme or write a list by hand instead.
Recordings are not saved. Recognised text is kept only for as long as it takes to write the list.
Apple Intelligence
Lists written from a theme are generated by Apple Intelligence on your device. The theme and generated names are not sent to us.
Purchases
Category packs and the theme writer are one-off purchases handled by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The app asks Apple which items you own so it can unlock them; it does not receive, store or transmit anything that identifies you.
Sharing a badge
Badge cards are drawn on your device. Nothing is shared unless you choose to share it, and where it goes is up to you and the app you send it to.
Children
Celebrity is suitable for family play and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
